The dashboard is the first screen you see when you sign in. It's a glance at how the shop is trading right now — not a place you change anything, but the jumping-off point to everywhere else.

Welcome to your shop

For the first 7 days after a shop opens, the dashboard shows a Welcome to your shop card with short walkthroughs: Add products from the catalogue, Add your own product, Change your logo and Take card payments with Stripe. Each one points at what to press, page by page, and you can stop it at any time with Stop guide. Staff only see the walkthroughs they have permission for.

Press Skip the tour to hide the card. That choice is remembered in the browser you pressed it in, so another computer or a cleared browser shows the card again until the shop is 7 days old. The card also hides itself once you have started every walkthrough.

The tiles

Along the top are stat tiles. Which ones you see depends on your role:

  • Revenue today and Revenue this month — the value of paid orders (card, gift card or store credit; cash sales at the till count too). The small graph under "today" is the last 30 days, so you can see whether today is up or down on the trend. Shown to staff with the reports.view permission.
  • Orders today — every order started today, paid or not. Click it to jump to the orders list.
  • To pack — orders that still owe the customer something, whether that is a parcel to post or a bag to put on the shelf. Clicking it opens the orders list on Active, which is the same set.

Stock value

What everything on your shelf is priced at, and how that has moved. Needs the reports.view permission, like the revenue tiles.

It is measured once a day, at 5am, not as you watch. Valuing every line in a shop of any size is a heavy sum, and running it on every visit to the dashboard would make the page slower for everyone to answer a question that does not change minute to minute. The figure names the day it was taken, so you always know how old it is.

5am is chosen rather than midnight because market prices are refreshed at 4am — the valuation reads the prices the night just brought in, not yesterday's.

Retail valueWhat the stock would bring in at the prices you are asking. Cards that follow the market are counted at their market price, the rest at the price you set.
In stockItems on the shelf, and how many separate lines they sit on.
Unrealised marginRetail less what you paid — but only across the items whose cost you have recorded, and it says how many that is.

A shop that does not record cost prices sees no margin at all rather than a made-up one. Where cost is known for most of the stock, a second line on the graph tracks it; where it is known for only a handful of items, the line is left off, because a cost line sitting near zero reads as a collapse rather than as a gap in what you know.

The period picker covers 30 days, 90 days or a year. History starts the first morning the measurement runs — a day that was never measured cannot be filled in later, because the prices and the stock it would have been measured against have already moved.

Only stock that is on sale and in stock is counted: an inactive line, or one at zero, is worth nothing to you today. Stock picked for a trade show has left the shelf, so it drops out of the valuation until the show is closed and it comes back.

A line with no price counts as nothing. It is still there in the item count, because you own it, but it adds zero to the value — so a gap between a healthy item count and a low retail value is usually cards that were never priced, not cards that are worthless.

Get set up

A checklist of the main editors — Products, Store details, Navigation, Pages. It's here to give a new shop an obvious first move; you can ignore it once you're up and running.

Good to know

  • Money figures use your shop's currency and timezone (set in Settings), so "today" means your local day, not the server's.
  • Nothing here is editable — every tile is a shortcut. To act on an order, open it from the orders list.
