Setting the show up
Everything the show knows about itself. This tab has a Save button and nothing on it saves until you press it — unlike Stock, where every take saves as you go.
You can change any of it at any point, including while the show is running.
| Opening float | The cash you put in the tin before trading. Cash expected in the tin counts up from this, so if you top the tin up on the Saturday night, put the new total here. |
|---|---|
| Country | Where the show is. A show outside the UK has its sales posted as outside the scope of UK VAT and kept out of your margin pool. See Planning a show. |
| Card fee (%) | What your provider takes on a card sale — SumUp's standard UK rate is 1.69%. |
| Notes | A line to yourself. Not shown to anyone at the booth. |
The card fee is not a charge this system makes and it does not change what the customer pays. It exists so that when you are haggling on the phone, the profit shown as you type a price is the profit after the card company has taken its cut — the number you are actually deciding on. Leave it at zero and the phone simply shows profit before fees.
Sticker rounding
The price you write on the sticker is the card's price — the one it has on the website, or its market price if it follows the market — rounded so a booth full of stickers reads in tidy money. Sticker rounding is No rounding — use the real price, Nearest 50p or Nearest £1, and Round is Up or Down. A card has one price: type a sticker on the pick list, on the phone or in its binder pocket and that is its price, at the show and back on the website when it comes home; leave the box blank to follow the market again. It is fixed the moment the show opens, so every sticker written over the weekend was rounded the same way.
Games you are taking
Narrows what the catalogue search offers when you buy cards in at the booth, so a Pokémon weekend does not put Magic results in front of you. It does not restrict what you can take or sell. Tick none and it searches everything you sell.
Count this show's takings in my sales figures
On by default. What you take at a show is trading income like anything sold over the counter or online — it belongs in your turnover, and if you are VAT registered it belongs on the return. The show still keeps its own float, tin, costs and report; this only decides whether its sales also join the shop's figures.
| Off | The show keeps its own ledger and its own report and nothing reaches Reports or the dashboard. Reports say which shows are left out and for how much, so a show kept out on purpose is never a show forgotten. |
|---|---|
| On | Closing the show posts each sale into your orders alongside your website and till sales. Post takings to my books stays on Run it for any sale that reaches the show after that, such as a phone that was offline. |
Off does not take a show out of VAT. If you are VAT registered, a sale at a show is a taxable sale whether or not it is in your sales figures. The VAT report counts every show sale on the day it was made, posted or not, and names the shows that are not posted. Either way the show's own Takings report is always there, so you can compare one show against another.
