Planning a show

Help centre · In your shop

Plan a show creates it. Only the name is required — everything else can be filled in later on the show's own Set up tab, so a show you have just been offered a table at can go in now and be finished off tonight.

NameWhat you call it. It is the heading on every screen and on the connect code the phones scan.
VenueWhere it is. Shown under the name in the list, so two runs of the same fair are told apart.
CountryThe country the show is in. It starts as your shop's own country. Goods you sell at a show abroad are outside the UK when you sell them, so the sale is outside the scope of UK VAT (VAT Notice 700, section 4.8.2). Those sales are posted with no UK VAT, listed on their own on the VAT report and kept out of your margin pool. Cards you buy at a show abroad are recorded like any other buy. The country you trade in may want VAT of its own, so check with an adviser there.
Starts / EndsLeave Ends blank for a one-day show. The list sorts newest first by Starts.
FloatThe cash you are putting in the tin before you sell anything. It is not takings — it is what Cash expected in the tin counts up from.

What the show costs you

Table fee, fuel, parking, a hotel — anything you pay to be there. Three rows are offered, two of them already labelled, and Add another adds more. A row with nothing in it is ignored, so you can leave the blank one alone.

These come off your takings to give the net. You are not committing to a final figure here — costs can be added at any time afterwards on the Takings tab, which is where the hotel bill goes when it lands a week later.

Games you are taking

Only offered if your plan includes more than nothing — it lists the games you sell. Ticking them narrows what the phone searches when you are buying cards in at the booth, so a Pokémon-only weekend does not offer you Magic cards. It does not limit what you can take with you or sell: that is the Stock tab. Tick none and buying in searches everything you sell.
