Trade shows

Help centre · In your shop

For the weekend you load the car and sell over a table. You pick what is going, sell and buy from a phone at the booth, and bring what is left back into stock when you get home. Each show keeps its own ledger, so you can see which ones were worth the table fee.

Show Mode needs an internet connection. Venue Wi-Fi is usually poor, so plan on using mobile data.

The weekend, in order

1. Plan itOn this page — name, dates, float, and what the table is costing you
2. Set it upThe show's own page: Set up, then Card reader
3. Pick the stockStock — search your shelves and press Take
4. Connect the phonesRun it, at the shop, on your own wifi — not in the car park
5. TradeOn the phones, all weekend
6. Come homeRun it ▸ Close & bring stock back, then read Takings

Picking stock takes it off the website immediately — that is the whole point. Nobody can order a card online that is sitting in your car, and the till back at the shop cannot sell it either.

You never have to remember to "open" the show. The first sale or buy-in does it for you — the button is only there if you want to mark it live yourself.

A show's takings count in your sales figures by default. They are posted to your books when you close the show. Untick Count this show's takings in my sales figures on Set up to keep a show out of Reports and the dashboard. If you are VAT registered, that does not take it out of VAT. Every sale at a show is a taxable sale, and the VAT report counts it whether it is posted or not.
