Help centre · Setting up your shop

Let the shop post about your events for you. Connect your Facebook Page once, say when you want posts to go out, and each event is announced, counted down to, and rounded up without anyone typing it. If the Page has an Instagram business account linked to it, the same posts go there too. From Events in the menu, open the Facebook tab. It only appears if your plan includes it, and only for staff who can manage the shop's settings, because it connects the shop's own Facebook account. It used to be a tab on Settings; it lives with the events it posts about now.

Facebook & Instagram

Press Connect Facebook and you are sent to Facebook to approve it. It has to be a Facebook Page — a personal profile cannot be posted to, and if the account manages no Pages you are told so. If it manages more than one, the panel comes back as Choose a Page: pick the one to post to and press Use this Page. One Page belongs to one shop on this platform; a Page already connected elsewhere is refused.

Connected, the panel names the Page and, if there is one, the linked Instagram account. Post to my Facebook Page and Post to Instagram are separate switches, so you can keep one and drop the other. Instagram will not accept a post without a picture, so only events that have an image are posted there; Facebook takes them either way.

The connection expires. Facebook ends it after a while and the panel tells you the date; press Reconnect, or choose a different Page before then or posting simply stops, and the panel says Posting has stopped until you do. Disconnect Facebook takes it away on purpose.

Posting schedule

Nothing goes out until you add at least one rule — the panel says so. Add as many or as few as you like from Add:, and Remove any you change your mind about. Times are in your shop timezone, set on the General tab of Settings.

RuleWhat it posts
When I publish an eventStraight away, about the event's next date.
Daily round-upAt the time you set, covering the events in the next however-many days you set.
Weekly round-upOn the weekday and at the time you set, covering the next seven days.
Countdown to each eventA set number of days before each event, at the time you set. Add it more than once for a week-before and a day-before.
When places run lowWhen a capped event drops to the number of places you set, or fewer. Posted once per date, so a busy night is not announced three times.

A round-up that turns out to cover a single event is posted as a normal event post, with that event's own picture, rather than as a one-line list. Use the industry cadence fills the schedule — and the wording below — with the usual week-before, day-before and morning-of rhythm; it changes nothing until you press Save Facebook settings, so it is a safe starting point to edit down.

What the posts say

Three templates, one per kind of post, each with a live example underneath it built from your next real event (or made-up details if you have none yet). Click a tag to drop it into the text:

TemplateUsed forTags
A single eventPublish posts, countdowns, and a round-up that covers one event.{{ event }} {{ date }} {{ venue }} {{ spaces }}
A round-up of several eventsDaily and weekly round-ups.{{ events }} — becomes one line per event, with its time and price.
When places are running outThe places-run-low rule.As the single event, with {{ spaces }} reading as "3 spaces" or "1 space".

The picture is the event's banner image. A round-up gets a collage of that day's event pictures — up to four, with your logo filling the gap when there are three. An event with no image posts as text only on Facebook and is skipped on Instagram.

Saving

The switches, the schedule and the templates are all committed by Save Facebook settings at the bottom of this tab — not by the main Save settings button. The connection itself is different: it is made the moment Facebook sends you back.
